Overview
Reduced or blocked blood supply to the intestines, causing tissue damage. Can be acute (life-threatening) or chronic.

• Blood clots
• Atherosclerosis
• Low blood pressure
• Vasospasm

Symptoms (Acute)
• Sudden severe abdominal pain
• Vomiting
• Bloody stool
• Shock

Treatment
• Emergency surgery
