Overview
EoE is a chronic immune-mediated condition marked by eosinophil buildup in the esophagus.

Symptoms
• Dysphagia
• Food impaction
• Chest pain
• Reflux-like symptoms
• Upper abdominal pain

Triggers
• Dairy
• Wheat
• Eggs
• Soy
• Nuts
• Environmental allergens

Diagnosis
Endoscopy with biopsy.

Treatment
• Elimination diets (6-food or targeted)
• Topical swallowed steroids
• PPI therapy
• Esophageal dilation in severe cases
